gloaming privacy policy
The short version: gloaming is designed so that we never see your data.
- Applies to
- gloaming for iPhone
- Status
- Takes effect when gloaming is released
What gloaming reads
With your permission, gloaming reads the photos on your iPhone and the date and location saved with each one. It uses them to build your map, your timeline and your trip books. All of this happens on your iPhone. Your photos and their locations are never uploaded to us or to anyone else.
What leaves your iPhone
To show maps and place names, gloaming uses Apple's built-in services:
- Map images come from Apple Maps.
- To name a place, gloaming sends a location to Apple's geocoding service.
Apple handles these requests under its own privacy policy. Nothing is sent to Huckstorf Creative.
What we collect
Nothing. We don't run servers for gloaming, and it contains no analytics, advertising or tracking code. We don't create accounts or collect names, email addresses or device identifiers.
If you choose to share analytics with app developers in your iPhone's settings, Apple may send us anonymous crash reports. These help us fix problems and don't include your photos or locations.
Purchases
Purchases, including gloaming Plus, are handled by the App Store. We don't receive your payment details.
Your choices
You can change or remove gloaming's access to your photos at any time in Settings, under Privacy & Security, then Photos. Deleting gloaming removes the map, timeline and settings it created. Your photos themselves are never changed.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date it takes effect. If a future version of gloaming ever needs to send new kinds of information off your iPhone, we'll say so here before it ships.
